Dr. Bernard Rimland and Vitamin B-6 for Autism

Dr. Bernard Rimland is the author of Infantile Autism and founder of The Autism Research Institute. When his oldest son Mark was born in 1956 and began exhibiting developmental delays, almost nobody knew what autism was. The accepted theory back then was that autism was a reaction to bad parenting. With the publication of his book in 1964, he single-handedly shattered the accepted professional theory that so called 'refrigerator' mothers were to blame for their children's autism. Hundreds of parents contacted him after reading his book. Some of them had tried mega-vitamin therapy on their autistic children and had seen positive results. These parents had read articles in the New York Tim

Coconut Oil For Insulin Resistance and Diabetes

Coconut oil is rich in lauric acid, which has antibacterial, antiviral and antiparasitic properties. Since certain fungi release mycotoxins which can damage the beta cells in the pancreas, it is important to strengthen the immune system, and rid the body of fungi and yeast. Coconut oil does just this. Since diabetics have a 65% higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s than non-diabetics, Alzheimer's prevention is crucial. The unique saturated fats in coconut oil are made up of MCT’s, or medium chain triglycerides. These MCT’s are converted in the liver to ketones, which can be used by neurons (brain cells) as energy, in place of glucose. In fact, the brain can utilize ketones to supply more

Autism: When the Body and Soul Disconnect

The eye is the window to the soul. They also don't speak. It seems that the soul is unable to communicate. "There was still a child who required feeding, washing, and minding but there was no soul in that child. She was invisible." These are the words of Melanie Glock describing what happened to her daughter Maisie after she beca

The Healing Properties of Bread According to the Talmud

In Tractate Baba Metzia (page 107 side 2) it discusses the verse "V'haser Hashem mimcha kol choli" Translation: "And Hashem (G-d) will remove from you all disease". Here the Gemara talks about illnesses. There are 83 diseases the root of which is a disease called Mara, a disease which starts in the digestive system and spreads to the rest of the body. The Gemara goes on to say "Pat Shacharit B'melach, v'kiton shel mayim, mevatlim". These 83 ailments are cured by eating Pat Shacharit, which is (proper) bread with salt in the morning and a jug of water. The Gemara continues to talk about the healing properties of bread: "13 attributes were said about Pat Shacharit (Morning Bread) : it heal
