Farmed & Wild Fish: Fish tops the list of harmful food for 2021. Our oceans are toxic, and the fish absorb the mercury, pesticides, dioxins, PCBs and sewage that are dumped into our oceans daily. Fish store these toxins in their fat cells; the bigger the fish and the longer they live, the more toxic they are. Salmon, talapia, and cod are some of the most toxic foods people can eat. Whoever said that fish is healthy is LYING. According to Dr. David Carpenter, Director of the Institute for Health and the Environment at the University of Albany, farmed salmon is a high-risk cancer food. Farmed fish pens are highly contaminated with fish feces, carcinogenic chemicals, PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls), flame retardants, pesticides, and loads of antibiotics. Farmed fish are plagued by sea lice due to the overcrowding and lack of oxygen in the pens. Beware: wild salmon and tuna are also quite toxic as they have unsafe mercury levels. Processed Meats: American Cancer Association: "Studies have linked eating large amounts of processed meats with an increased risk of colorectal cancer. This may be due to nitrites, which are added to many lunch meats, hams, hot dogs, and other processed meats. " Processed meats are full nitrites unless otherwise indicated. Nitrites are not a necessary ingredient. They are added to give meat a fresh red look. During the digestion process, sodium nitrite is converted to nitrosamine, Nitrosamine is a carcinogen. Most restaurants will not use more expensive nitrite free meats, so beware. Meat is also full of antibiotics which are given to poultry in huge amounts, and to cows as well to prevent infections. Consumption of non-organic meat and poultry can actually give us antibiotic resistant infections. Plus Refined flour causes major spikes in blood sugar, since its fiber content has been removed. (Natural Fiber prevents blood sugar highs). A study published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Mile Markers, and Prevention found that regular consumption of refined carbohydrates was linked to a 220 percent increase in breast cancer among women!
Potassium bromate (aka brominated flour): A key bulking ingredient, potassium bromate speeds up the bread-making process and cuts costs for manufacturers—and may be linked to kidney and nervous system disorders and gastrointestinal discomfort. Even worse bromides have been linked to cancer.
Canola oil: Over 90 percent of canola oil is genetically modified. Canola oil is a refined oil made from toxic rapeseeds. Canola is often partially hydrogenated (a major source of trans fats) to increase its stability. When heated at high heat (such as in fried foods), canola turns into trans fats and free radicals are formed. Rats fed canola oil developed heart and kidney damage. Corn Syrup: It’s cheaper and sweeter than sugar, and it is much more quickly absorbed by the body. Polysorbate 80- This emulsifier is incredibly toxic. It is used in many diet foods and has been shown to cause cancer in mice. It is also linked to infertility, and many other health problems. Researchers at Georgia State University’s Institute for Biomedical Sciences found that mice that consumed dietary emulsifiers on a regular basis experienced exacerbated tumor development.For this study, researchers focused on two of the most commonly used emulsifiers called polysorbate 80 and (carboxymethyl)cellulose. They fed mice doses comparable to the cumulative amounts people would eat daily in processed foods. According to the researchers, these emulsifiers drastically changed the gut microflora in a manner that made it more pro-inflammatory, creating the perfect environment for cancer development. The bacteria in the gut began expressing more flagellin and lipopolysaccharide, which activate pro-inflammatory gene expression by the immune system.Personally, I avoid polysorbate 80 at all costs.
Non- Organic Apples, Grapes, and other 'dirty' fruits: While apples, grapes, and strawberries are certainly healthy antioxidant rich foods, they are also some of the most heavily sprayed fruits. Sucralose: Studies have shown that Sucralose reduces beneficial gut bacteria by a whopping 50% in rat studies! Also a source of chlorine. Sucralose (Splenda), saccharin and various other artificial sweeteners have also been linked to causing cancer.
BHT or BHA: Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT) or BHA (Butylated Hydroxyanisole), ingredient are banned in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and much of Europe because they are thought to be CARCINOGENIC. Both of these preservatives have been found to increase the risk of cancer in animals, and BHA is “reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen” by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
